Spray Tanning Facts

Is it safe?
Yes, DHA has no known toxicity and has been approved for cosmetic use by the FDA, the Canadian Health Ministry, and most of the EU member nations
Should I be concerned if I have a skin condition?
Conditions such as Psoriasis or excessively dry skin could cause patchy or uneven results. Care should also be taken to prevent DHA coloration of the hair and nails, barrier creams such as Vaseline are ideal for this.
What is DHA?
Dihydroxyacetone is the main active ingredient in all sunless tanning preparations. It may be used alone or combined with other tanning components such as erythrulose. DHA is considered the most effective sun-free tanning additive. History lesson - DHA (naturally derived from sugar cane) used to be given to children who suffered from a condition where they couldn't naturally produce glucose in their own bodies. The children received doses of DHA by mouth which was sometimes spilled onto the skin. Healthcare workers noticed that the skin turned brown after a few hours of DHA exposure. Thus the tanning effects of DHA were discovered!!

... hat sort of tan will I get?
Suntana spray tan will temporarily make your skin a lovely golden brown. The chemical reaction physically changes your skin color. Our solution has been well-tested in order to ensure that it looks exactly like a natural tan. Even fair-skinned clients who don't tan easily will benefit from a Suntana spray tan.
How do I prepare for a Spray Tan?
You should exfoliate before spray tanning. Shaving the legs is also a good idea as this can help to exfoliate the skin. Exfoliating allows the solution to dye the layer of skin that is likely to last the longest. You should also apply moisturizer to the tops of the feet, elbows & heels and remove makeup / deodorant prior to a spray tan
How do I maintain my tan?
After a spray tan, you must not shower for a minimum of four hours; this allows the DHA to take full effect. Over the following days the top layer of your skin naturally sheds in order to give way to newer skin. Because that top layer of skin is the part that's dyed by the DHA, the tan wears off gradually. So, to extend the effects of the spray tan, you must use moisturizer regularly
How long will my tan last?
A tan can last up to 10 days if maintained properly
