If you have heard the call to ministry, God has given you a wonderful blessing. However, being a Christian leader isn’t always easy. We are all called to be witnesses for Christ, but those who are called to lead have an especially great responsibility. Our purpose in this life is to glorify God and to ‘go and make disciples of all nations’, as Matthew 28:19 says. But we are not meant to do it alone. Romans 1:11-12 says, “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong- that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” We are meant to encourage one another as believers. But while Christian friendship is important in evangelism, as humans, we are created to desire something more. Christian romance- the perfect blend of love and friendship.

When looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with, you must be sure that he or she is someone who will encourage you, guide you, and help you to grow in your walk with God. This is especially true for Christian leaders. After all, how can you hope to stay strong in the faith while constantly surrounding yourself with negativity?
This is why we must ‘not be yoked together with unbelievers’, as 2 Corinthians 6:14 says. There are many who argue that dating a non-Christian is alright because they can be converted. But the chances of that outcome are very slim, and it is better just to go for a Christian, as God instructed us to.
As a Christian leader, your search for finding link minded individual is especially hard. How can you be sure that your future spouse is one that loves God as much as you do? You may not be able to tell with just anyone, and you shouldn’t have to worry about uncertainty in a relationship. However, in dating and possibly marrying another Christian leader, much of your anxiety can be put to rest.

As aforementioned, your significant other should be a great encouragement in your life. Your love interest should challenge you to live by faith from day to day and help you overcome the struggles you may face. In a relationship between two Christian leaders, this is exceptionally crucial. Also, as a Christian leader you may run dry of inspiration and motivation when you need it most. So what better way to fill up than to trade ideas and thoughts with another Christian leader, one who loves and respects you?
