Always let the dog follow you, and never vice-versa, meaning always take the leadership position, often called the alpha position. They tend to take up the leadership position if they are not lead properly and the situation can often get out of hand. The owner should always influence upon the dog that who is leading and that the dog is expected to follow.

Apart from giving them the regular bath, they do not require proximity to water and are basically a robust breed in general. However they enjoy the brushing of hair and if possible this task should be done frequently, an increased frequency of brushing will prevent a build up of tufts of hair. As matter of fact, they enjoy the brushing and will keep perfectly still and you can see that they are enjoying every moment of it.

The presence of a French bulldog can be a source of joy for the entire household, provided you understand the psychology of how to handle them well enough. They can get quite aggressive if you cannot provide them with the right quality of leadership and then the problem can get out of hand.
