When we move from one home to another we generally tend to forget some things. Some are more important and some less important. The United States mail service change of address is definitely in the first category. Forgetting something as important as a change of address can lead to troubles with the bank and other creditors, and not only.

Because a large number of people forget this all important task, at least until it starts causing trouble, The United States Mail Service is now giving U.S. citizens the possibility of performing a change of address on-line, thus avoiding all the time spent on performing the regular change address process, where someone has to wait in line at the post office, get a form, fill it, and then again wait in line to submit it.

The on-line alternative is far simpler than having to go to a postal office to submit your change address form. The only thing you have to do is visit one of the United States Mail Service websites and fill out a change address form. After reading it to make sure that there are no mistakes, you submit it. The new change of address process is really hassle free ...
... and takes just a couple minutes of your time, as opposed to spending a few hours in the traditional way.

The response is forwarded to your addresses, both old and new, and to your e-mail address. After your change of address request has been processed, you will start to receive the mail from your former address in a week's time after the date you specify in your request. The period in which the United States Mail Service still forwards mail from the former address to your new address is one year. After this period, the United States Mail Service will return the mail to the sender notifying the sender of your new address.

Many sites are now partnered with the United States Mail Service, and all of them are offering the same easy and hassle free way of submitting your change address form. The on-line form requests the same information as the regular United States Mail Service form, except this alternative only takes a couple minutes of your time.

Some consider the United States Mail Service website to be a little difficult, especially to those new to the internet. The on-line form is not that easy to find on the website, so many prefer the alternative of visiting change address partner websites that offer to submit your information to the United States Mail Service free of any charge. The forms found on these partner sites will only take a few minutes of your time to fill in, and the submission is also hassle free. These website hold a slight advantage over the United States Mail Service website. The form is in plain sight, and also, there are no fees, so there is no need to enter your credit card details.
