Metal is a valuable material and has great utilization in manufacturing a range of useful products. It has been found that in the US, 100 million steel cans and at least twice that amount of aluminum cans are used every day. Now, it has become essential to reprocess this valued resource as earth cannot supply unlimited amount of this ore. So, it is an asset and should be conserved properly for extensive use and the only option is to reprocess it.

Metal recycling in Orange County involves reusing of the old metal, mainly steel and aluminum to manufacture new products. You will be amazed to discover that the entire process consumes 95% less energy than creating new products from raw ore. The best thing about this material is that you can reprocess it over and over again to re-forge something new. And most importantly, repeated recycling will not reduce its strength or durability.

Now, every metal is unique in its own way and undergoes different process of reclamation. Here we have provided you a brief idea about recycling ...
... the common types of metal such as steel, tin, copper and aluminum.

Tin

A large number of tin cans are collected by the recycling center. After collection, the top and the bottom of the cans are removed and the material is flattened as much as possible. Now, they are dropped in caustic chemical solution to strip out the exterior layer of tin. Then the materials undergo an electrolysis bath that attracts tin to a magnetic plate. This process separates aluminum from the tin. Now, when the tin is only left on the plate, it is heated and melted to create a metal cast that can be reused effectively.

Steel

After scrap steel is collected from different industries or companies, they are loaded into a conveyor belt, where it is split into fist sized, and small chunks. Now, the ferrous metals (steel and iron) are separated from other ingredients that were present in the scrap. In this process, magnets are utilized that pull out the ferrous component effectively and the non-ferrous materials are collected into a bin to be disposed elsewhere. Now, the separated ferrous materials undergo the process of recycling. They are smelted and reprocessed into fresh, steel products.

Aluminum

When scrap aluminum materials are reprocessed, first they are shredded into small pieces of chips. Then the chips are melted in a furnace and converted into ingots. Now, large masses of the material are shifted to manufacturing plants, where they are rolled neatly into sheets. This makes the aluminum ready to get use in manufacturing new products like car castings or cans.

Copper

Copper is extensively utilized for wiring purpose and so it is essential to determine the standard and quality of the material before it is reused. Now, after copper is smelted, it goes through the process of fine refining to attain higher quality. In the next step, the heated ore is deoxidized and made into ingots or billets for future use.

Scrap Metal Reprocessing Encompasses a Huge Range of Companies across the US

Scrap metal recycling in Orange County is a growing industry. In general, the US is the biggest exporter of scrap steel materials and they are collected from a number of suppliers and processors across the country. A recent report has revealed the fact that the top most important scrap material reclaiming companies in the US control around thirty-five percent of the entire market. Overall, the country hosts over 500 autonomous metal reprocessing companies with around 1,000 processing facilities.

So, you can see that how metal recovering is gaining importance in major countries like the United States. So, save environment with effective recycling!
