The Chrysler Group has invited all major fans of the SRT and Viper community to congregate and make history by allowing fans to take part in naming the next color of the 2014 Dodge SRT Viper. People will not have to create the color itself, but they will have to come up with a name for the mid-ranged blue color. The 2014 Dodge SRT Viper is a vehicle that has a V-10 engine, over delivering on excitement with its 640 horsepower.

SRT Colors

Given that it is a car that has a racy image, calling it blueberry blue will probably not win the contest. The SRT team was looking for names that were worthy of the other names on the list like Black Venom, Adrenaline ...
... Red and Gunmetal Pearl. The name has to fit the image that the SRT team is looking for.


The Contest

After more than 11,000 entries received, the SRT design staff chose three finalists with the best names. The final three were:

Viral Blue

Competition Blue

Overtaking Blue


The three colors were announced to the general public and the public was then asked to vote on their favorite name. In the end, Competition Blue was decided as the winner for the Dodge SRT Viper color contest. However, there were actually multiple submissions from people who chose to say Competition Blue. The winner was chosen based on who submitted the color name first.


The Prize

The competitions winner, a Chicago resident, is the winner of two tickets to the 2014 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona at the Daytona International Speedway, which will be taking off in January. He will also have the chance to spend time with the SRT design team throughout the weekend. He will be receiving a mini speed form - a sculpture of the 2014 SRT Viper, valued at around $300.


Behind the Contest

The color contest was created so that loyal fans of the SRT Vipers would have the chance to take part in the history of naming the colors for the vehicle. There were many people who were honored to do this. Fans also had the chance to pick the color name for the 2014 SRT Viper by voting on the color name. 11,000 people came together to make submissions for the Dodge SRT Viper color contest, this helped to demonstrate the strength of the SRT Dodge Viper community.
