LEDs consume less energy and give more light. For example, to emit 210 lumens of brightness, they consume 3W, while CFL bulbs and tube lights consume more than 5W. Thus, making them almost 65% more efficient than their counter parts.


Also, LEDs are 95% energy-efficient. That means, 95% of the power consumed by them is converted to light and just 5% to heat.


Eco-friendly and pleasant

LEDs do not contain any mercury content nor emit any carbon gases that are harmful to environment. They are "eco-friendly".


Also, they do not generate any heat while working. They emit light similar to the natural day light which is pleasant. Whereas light from tube lights and CFLs generate a considerable amount of heat and the light from them is a bit harsh to eyes when stared at it.


Wide voltage range and ability to work in extreme weather

LEDs tolerate extreme weather. Also, they are capable of working with wide range of voltage, therefore, the chances of failure are very less during voltage fluctuations. Whereas, CFLs and tube lights cannot withstand extreme weather and voltage fluctuations.


Now, it is clear that LEDs bring more benefits than CFLs and tube lights, it is fair to predict that LEDs are going to dominate the other two in future. But, the only drawback of LEDs is that they are expensive. Hopefully, manufacturers make a move to reduce the prices to encourage users to adopt LED lights.
