Starting either an online and offline businesses make many demands on you. To maximize your chances of success, you really should first be able to answer some important questions regarding your business. A successful online business must be very well thought out, even if it appears simple when people see the finished product. Selling dog products to people who love aquariums is not going to work - do you understand what we are saying? If you are selling something about traveling after retirement, stay at home moms won't be interested. You understand right?

Who is going to be my primary competition? Will you be targeting individuals or businesses? Your USP (unique selling position) will not be known to you until you can identify who your competitors are, something you need to know if you want to actually have success. Once this is put together, and done appropriately, your buyers should have no problem understanding why, in your field and demographic, you have the best product or service available. Without understanding who your competitors are, you will never be able to present yourself as the best option in your particular industry or niche. Launching a business requires you to make many important decisions. Having your business online doesn't exempt you from such concerns. The above are some of the main questions you should start with. More questions will present themselves as you progress with your business. The first questions you must answer, though, are the most basic ones.
