At their annual 360 event, Nissan unveiled the new concept Murano and Rogue hybrids. The new models are sure to please a wide range of consumers. The Murano will specifically appeal to young families that need a bit more room, and yet still need to pinch pennies where they can. The Rogue is more suited for couples or singles that have active lifestyles. It will be sporty, have a bit more room than a comparative car, and still get great gas mileage.

The new hybrids are still in an unfinished state and are not expected to hit showroom floors until 2014, but their arrival is much anticipated.

The Nissan Murano hybrid will continue to be the mid-sized ...
... SUV. It will still comfortably seat 5, and have room for the family dog, and the camping equipment as well. EPA testing has not yet happened for the Murano but, it is expected to exceed 25 to 27 mph on the highway. The Murano will be utilizing the same hybrid technology that is used by the Pathfinder Hybrid, i.e. Nissan’s own fuel efficient single motor, two clutch system. It is expected that the Murano will get 250 horsepower from its environmentally friendly engine. This combined with Nissan’s Continuously Variable Transmission will give the Murano hybrid a smooth ride as well as power where it counts, and great gas mileage.

Nissan has gone all out with external styling for the newly redesigned Murano hybrid. The front grill is U-shaped, with lines that carry on through the headlights, stretching them, and then rolls in a simulated twist to the back of the vehicle, where it stretches the rear lights as well, and rounds out the bottom of the rear window. It is a magnificent melding of futuristic styling and aerodynamics that is both pleasing to the eye as well as efficient.

The Nissan Rogue hybrid will continue to have the SUV design and the car like feel. It is small, maneuverable and roomy all at the same time. As with the Murano, the Rogue is still so new that EPA testing has not yet occurred. It is however, expected to exceed the mileage of any car in its class, including comparative sedans. According to a Nissan spokesman, the Rogue will undergo a complete transformation in the next year, and when it reemerges it will have a brand new look both inside and out.

The Rogue is expected to have similar exterior design as the Murano. This edgy and unique design is certain to catch the eye of many consumers, while the incredible gas mileage of the hybrid will keep their attention. Much of the Rogue’s appeal is in its ability to carry a lot of people, it seats 5 comfortably, and the sheer number of things that can be packed into it. Nissan has improved the Rogue’s curb appeal by offering it as a hybrid. This addition makes the Rogue the perfect car for city driving, weekend getaways and nights out on the town, all while being environmentally friendly and fuel conscious.

The Murano and the Rogue will come in several different economically friendly versions, as well as standard versions. Nissan will offer a plethora of accessories as well as the All-Wheel drive option, and all of the safety features that make their vehicles stand out in a crowd, as well as Bose sound and leather seats. One thing is certain, Nissan will definitely improve their line of vehicles, with the addition of the new Murano and Rogue hybrids.
