Sometimes there is nothing better than going to an old fashion drive in theater and experiencing a movie in the comfort of your car. This gives you your own personal room while watching the movie as you and your friends can still talk and discuss the movie as it plays, without disturbing those around. And on a beautiful night, heading out to the best drive in movie theaters in Southern California might just be one of the best options available to you. However, before you grab your date or your kids and pull them into the car, you need to know what drive in theaters are the best and what offerings are going to provide you with the best movie going experience.

Vineland Drive-In Movie Theater
This is a classic drive-in movie theater and best of all, it is open seven days a week. So if you have some time off or are finally just deciding to go and take in a show, you can any evening of the year. Plus, the tickets are easy to swallow, as adult tickets are priced at $8.50 and children tickets are $2.00. If you go to a movie over the weekend (Friday-Sunday) you are able to stay for two movies, all for the price of ...
... one. There is often a long line for pulling into the theater, but it is not difficult to find a parking spot. One of the nice features of this is the sound is broadcasted through FM transmission, so you can tune your car to the drive-in theaters radio station and enjoy the stereo speakers inside of your car. Best of all, if you do not like the movie you are seeing, you can simply drive over to another screen and tune the radio to the different movie. It is recommended to show up early though, as the Vineland drive in theater is a bit small for its popularity.

Devil's Night Drive-In
This is a drive in theater that is actually located on the top of a parking structure right in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The theater is covered in Astroturf to give it more of a traditional drive in feel, although the movie selections are limited and the movie is projected into a small, inflatable screen. Seating is limited, making it likely that you'll be close to the action. Ticket prices are $10 presale and $12 at the door. The cars are ordered by size, so if you are in a compact vehicle you don't have to worry about being placed behind an SUV. Food options are limited and the vending areas become very crowded quickly.

Van Buren Drive-In Theater
This theater is one of the least expensive drive in movie options around; adult admission only costs $7 and children aged 5 through 9 cost $1. The theater displays current films; however one of the best features about this theater is the Mexican food it serves. The movie theater only accepts cash, so have money on hand when you arrive. The Van Buren is very busy during the weekends, so if you can come out during the week, it is most desirable.

These different movie theaters allow you to have an incredible time, all while seeing the movie in a way you might not have done so before.
