Chrysler And Mopar: A Show-stopping Duo At Sema

Chrysler and Mopar new-car buyers and aftermarket enthusiasts found plenty for their must-get lists at the recently-concluded
2013 SEMA show. The show featured 20 customized Chrysler Group vehicles and hundreds of Mopar and Jeep performance
parts.
Flashing its creative muscle, Chrysler grabbed plenty of attention at the annual Specialty Equipment Marketing Association
Show in Las Vegas, which included Mopar-modified vehicles from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, SRT and FIAT at the
industry’s premier aftermarket event.
2014 Dodge Challenger
Among the jaw-dropping Chrysler vehicles was the 2014 Dodge Challenger with three new options, dubbed the Scat
Packages. Scat Package 1 adds significant horsepower boost, cold-air intake and customized cat-back exhaust. Scat 2, geared
toward performance enthusiasts, further boosts horsepower with a performance camshaft that delivers additional acceleration.
Scat 3 triples the gains of Scat 1 with Mopar performance ported cylinder heads, camshaft and hi-flow headers.

Also unveiled were stand-alone Challenger performance parts including 20-inch Classic II forged aluminum wheels in
Hyperblack II, an electronic and variable quick-dump side exhaust, black concept hood and side valance and black fuel filler
door and hood pins with sequential tail lamps.
2014 Dodge Dart
Dodge Dart fans got the Scat treatment at SEMA as well, with the 2014 Dodge Dart GT, featuring a 184 horsepower 2.4-liter
Tigershark engine matched to a six-speed manual transmission.
In the Dart, Scat Package 1 adds a cold-air intake from Mopar, performance brake pads and an all-new short-throw shifter.
Scat 2 customizes engine calibration to work with a cat-back exhaust. And Scat 3 – aimed at those wanting to obtain ultimate
track times – included a Mopar big brake kit with 13-inch vented rotors, four-piston front calipers and a performance
suspension with adjustable dampening struts.
Beyond those modifications, Mopar offered a dual-vented functional aluminum hood to improve performance of the cold-air
intake, side sills, new three-piece deck lid spoiler to boost downforce, trim accents, premium floor mats and a wide range of
other custom Mopar accessories.
Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver
This on, as Chrysler describes it, is “for trail addicts seeking a vehicle with the capabilities to handle the rugged off-road while
projecting a unique, customized and luxurious look on the streets.”
Unique features include the Trailhawk 4x4 package powered by a 3.2-liter V-6 engine. It’s customized exterior includes special
paint and colors, roof graphics bordered in orange and orange tow hooks.
Aftermarket enthusiasts will also like its front wind deflector with Mopar emblem, rock deflectors, Katzkin Amaretto leather
seats and bright door-sill guards. For performance boosts, Chrysler offered up a Mopar cold-air intake and cat-back
exhaust.
Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler
Center stage among the Jeep offerings was the Jeep Wrangler Cooper Crawler, featuring a wide range of customer Mopar
parts and accessories, including front and rear bumper, lightweight rock rails, hood decals, black tail lamp guards and black
fuel-filler door.
Inside, the Wrangler Cooper Crawler boasts all-weather slush mats and Tuscany Katzkin leather seats. Performance and
off-road boosts come from a two-inch lift kit and a Mopar cold-air intake.
Mopar pride
Chrysler Group officials stress that Mopar parts and accessories – like those unveiled at the 2013 SEMA Show – are unique
because they are engineered by the same teams that create factory vehicle specifications for all Chrysler Group
vehicles.
And their enthusiasm for that challenge shows.
“The SEMA season is our favorite time of the year,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group’s
service, parts and customer-care brand. “Whether you want more power at the race track, more capability in the mud, or
versatility cruising beaches, Mopar is the only authentic and quality-tested answer.”
