You can enjoy scuba diving and snorkelling, the latter being very popular in Soufriere area where volcanic cliffs drop into the sea. The beaches of this country are usually of black volcanic sand but there are a few white sand beaches on the northeast of the island. Swimming is possible in the sea or in the island's secluded rock pools, notably at Trafalar Falls, Emerald Pool and Titou Gorge where two hot springs filter into a rock pool fed by a river. Water sports fanatics can enjoy parasailing, windsurfing and waterskiing at the coastal hotels. Motor boats and sailing boats can be chattered along the coast and fishing charters are arranged for large crowds.

The number of hotels has expanded in the recent past and they are all well equipped, the largest having 170 rooms. These hotels are expensive accommodations but there are alternative cheap accommodations like self catering apartments. These self catering apartments offer full service and maid service facilities and are conspicuous around the island. There are also guest houses, inns and camping sites as well as caravanning.
