It is also referred as ‘Princess of Hill Stations’ and is widely known as a tourist destination and retreat. The word Kodaikanal has four differing connotations based on its pronunciation. It is situated on a plateau atop the southern escarpment of Palani Hills at a height of 6998 feet between the valleys of Gundar and Parappar.
