Corporate Incentive Travel To Keep Employees Morale High
Programs like incentive travel, is one of the most amazing bonuses that top corporations will offer to their employees, and most of the time it has to do with their total volume of sales for the year. They are allowed a budget for travel, or they are sent to travel to different areas for work. This is a commodity that is all based off of how much the company makes, and sometimes how long the employee has been with the company as well. It also depends on the company, how big it is, etc. Although this is a great bonus undoubtedly, it is hard for a business to do this without losing money. The great part is that if they are savvy enough, they will have their accounting team write it off as an expense. In other words, this travel is most of the time used as a tax write-off if the company makes enough money.
The thing is, they can only write off so much before it becomes more of a ploy than a way of saving money, and companies have gotten in trouble for doing this in the past. Most of the time, this does not include being able to fly out of country either, (because those flights can be expensive), especially when the company ...
... has wrote off a little too much money as of recent. On the other hand, corporate incentive travel can be a great way to spread the company's roots, (and using an employee to do so is both an honor and a pleasure for them). The other thing is, these companies are able to get flights for a lot cheaper most of the time, because of ties they are able to make with certain airlines, (and even airports).
As an example, the company can get in contact with a major airline and get a very competitive price for their flights, assuming they spend a certain amount per year. This allows the airline to make a reasonable, guaranteed sum of money, while the consumer gets the cheap flight that they are looking for, (and thus can do more with their budget). Another thing to keep in mind is that this incentive travel programs does not just include flying, (at least most of the time). A majority of companies will allow it to be used for rental cars, gas, and even expenses while they are in whatever area doing business. This allows for them to essentially live for free while out traveling and doing their job, and is why most people look for this type of incentive in the company they want to be hired for. There is nothing more worthwhile than being able to go new places as a part of your job!
