My Brothers Birthday went with a Bang!
Dear Jim, thanks ever so much for fixing it for me! I was able to buy my little pain in the, sorry, my lovely little brother some really cool birthday gifts. I'd nearly spent the money that I had saved for his present last weekend, because I saw something I really wanted, and he was being horrible. But mum said that seeing as it's my birthday soon, I should be careful of which side my bread is buttered! Those gift ideas from findmeagift.com; you sent me were just great! His birthday was in a few days after I'd written to you, so I was well chuffed that I received them quickly too...ta very much!
I loved the Spider Spud - Mr Potato Head! I nearly got him that as he loves Spiderman. He thinks he is Spiderman. Mum and dad both said that judging by the cobwebs in his room, he isn't far wrong! I think the funny accessories that come with it are ace, the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and shoes. But particularly the spider suit and spider shades.

But then I saw the Novelty Tortoise Desk Lamp. ...
... A lamp shaped like a really cute tortoise! I love the way it's neck is all long and bendy. I guess that is so you can shine the light to wherever you want, instead of moving the whole lamp, neat! It's good that it runs off 3 AAA batteries, because he hasn't got any spare plug sockets in his room. I think he would have found it really useful, as he nearly always reads his comics before he goes to bed. But I didn't get it for him because I want it for myself!
So one of the things I did buy him, were some well ace Glow in the Dark Laces. I tried them too, just to make sure that they do glow. It said they only need 20 minutes in the light, to make them glow in the dark. And they did!! He lives in his trainers, and these light green shoelaces look really cool with his green Vans. He must have liked them, because he put them in straight away and said he wanted to go down to the skate park to test out his new skateboard. But I reckon it was to show off his wicked laces to his friends instead!
The gift that I couldn't wait to give him was the Pirate Pete Talking Parrot Toy. I couldn't wait, so I didn't, sort of, I'll explain in a minute! Anyway, I really liked the way he is perched on his swing, and I thought he would look well smart hanging in my brother's room. But when it said that it repeats about 2-3 seconds of speech; I knew that this was the gift for him. I couldn't resist it! It even flaps its wings and opens it's beak when it talks! But back to why I couldn't wait. My brother can be really annoying. So I decided to get my own back. He hates getting woken up in the morning, so I yelled a message into the parrot telling him to ‘wake up, it's your birthday'. I hid it in his wardrobe right next to his bed, and then I set it off in the morning, without him seeing me. It certainly did the trick; I've never seen him get out of bed so fast, ha-ha!

Anyway, we had a party and cake. Best bit though, was when the candles set fire to the streamers, which made the balloons go pop and set the dog off, who then ran into the table knocking the jelly off. Can't wait for my birthday, thanks Jim.... (And findmeagift.com)!
