The Best Flea Markets In France

Be it daily, weekly, monthly, or annually, there is always an open market in France where one can find collectables, old books, cookware, and practically everything at bargained prices. The great number of shopping places makes it difficult to choose which one to go to, so here's a short guide of which flea markets you should be invading next.
The Fair of Lille
Easily the biggest flea market in all of Europe, the Braderie de Lille is an annual event that hosts not only thousands of sellers but also exhibitors that make the fair even more exciting. Every year in September, the market opens from 2:00 PM on the first Saturday of the month and closes at 11:00 PM the next day. Aside from the extremely wide range of products one can shop for here, there are also traditional sights to witness. One of them is the unofficial competition for the highest tower of empty mussel shells.
The trade stretches to more than one hundred miles and tourists who come all the way to this city can reach up to millions. If you're a tourist, the best move is to secure a room in any of the nearby Lille hotels ( see this website ...
... ) as early as you can.
High-Quality Market in Toulouse
Another popular flea market is found in the city of Toulouse. Held every first weekend of each month (except October), the allées Jules Guesde is a more sophisticated fair held in central Toulouse. The market is open all day for three days and most of the collectables sold here are of high quality. Unlike in many flea markets, the focus here is with decorative wares and not the rustic ones. For those seeking to buy memorabilia in good condition, superior linens, and stylish ceramics, grab a sweet spot in Toulouse hotels and afford yourself the opportunity to buy some valuable items in this market.
Stylish Shopping in Le Touquet
A less popular activity in Le Touquet is shopping. Not known to many, this commune in northern France boasts of an art deco-designed market that opens every Thursday and Saturday morning. If you're a tourist and staying in Kyriad hotel in Le Touquet for the summer, the market also opens on Mondays during this peak season. Here, shoppers can find stalls of fresh seafood, local produce, specialty cheese, and even quality clothing, shoes, and accessories. But what's unique here is that they sell recycled stock from Parisian hotels. They have jackets and aprons, tablecloths, and serviettes, among others.
