Fashion Model: fashion models are mostly hired to promote clothing brands. There are various sub categories of fashion modeling and these include high fashion models, catalogue models, and editorial models. Fashion models need a particular body type such as:
Petite models, with height between 5'2" - 5'4" and a size of 2 to 4.
Plus models, with height between 5'2" - 6'1" and a size of 12 to 14.2.
High Fashion Model: these models work for big fashion houses or designers. Ex. Kate Moss working with Calvin Klein. Some of the physical attributes required to become a high fashion model include:

Square jaw
Long neck
While a high fashion model makes more money than other type of model, he/she also needs to have plenty of solid experience as well as a proven track record in fashion modeling in ordered to be hired by the best in the business.
Females who wish to become fashion models need to be at least 14 years of age. They also need to have vital stats that read: 34B-24-342. Height should be between 5'9" and 5'11", while weight should be between 108 to 130 pounds. Dress size needs to be 6 to 8.
Males who wish to become fashion models can be older (late teens). Their waist should be between 32 to 36 inches and height between 5'10" and 6'2."
Runway Models: these models walk the ramp or the catwalk at fashion shows. Runway models have to have a perfect body and type. A demanding job, models who walk the runway need to be tall and have long legs.
Online Models: online modeling is a new field and doesn't have exacting standards like other types of modeling. If you are new to the scene, you should serious consider online modeling as an option.
