If you have ever attended one of the many business conferences around Australia each year you may at some point had to wear a sticker name badge. If that were the case, you know exactly why it is that people don’t care for them. Sticker name badges have a poor reputation and it is mostly for good reason. Whether you are in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, or Melbourne, there is a better way!

The sticker name badge is a bit of a legend in the business world. Not because people enjoy wearing them, rather due to the fact that they have become a bit of joke. The old “hello, my name is…” name badge has been joked about for years. Here are some of the reasons why most people don’t like wearing sticker name badges:

Cheap. While they are cheap as in cost, that’s not what is meant here. Sticker name badges are cheap as in unprofessional. When people look at them they don’t see a professional. That’s because they don’t provide a professional image. What a sticker name badge says is that very little money, time, and thought was invested into the name badge.

Corny. As ...
... mentioned, sticker name badges are seen as somewhat of a joke. They tend to make people feel like they are kids back in school who are on a field trip and need to be identifiable by the chaperones. Try getting a group of professionals to put a sticker name badge on and you will see the jokes and raised eyebrows that take place.

Disposable. One of the biggest problems with sticker name badges is that you use them once and you are done. They go straight to the trash. They are not only a waste of resources, but they will end up costing more in the long run because they are not reusable name badges.

Residue. Many people complain about the residue left behind from the sticker name badges. The adhesive may leave some residue behind, depending on the type sticker name badge and the material it’s going on.
Limitations. There are limitations as to what can be included on them. For example, your company logo will not be on them, and most likely the person’s title won’t be either.

For those companies in Australia looking for an affordable name badge that can be changed with ease, they should consider reusable name badges. The reusable name badges are ideal because they look more professional, can be reused, don’t leave residue, and don’t come with a side of laughter!
