The Best Way To Care For Your Cat
1
Be sure that you take your cat to the vet at regular intervals for any vaccinations needed, or just a general checkup to see how your feline friend is doing. If you notice anything beyond the usual with your cat, such as the way they’re purring, meowing, walking, acting or eating, and are troubled, take your cat to the vet. Keep in mind that cats kept in outdoor cat enclosures are more prone to diseases caused by other outdoor creatures or the harsh changes in weather. Prevention is always better than cure.
2
Have your cat groomed regularly. Grooming is fundamental to the overall well being of your cat. It prevents hairballs, stimulates your cat’s blood circulation, stops cat hair fall when you pat him/ her and is a perfect example of good bonding time for you and your cat. If your cat has long, flowy fur, a pin brush will work best through long coat. A flat and slicker brush would be great for short fur. Smaller, triangular shaped brushes can be used for smaller areas, like around the face and ears. If you intend to use a comb, pick one that has wide teeth for long fur, and a fine toothed one for short ...
... fur. You may have to purchase smaller and more gentle cat care products for a kitten.
3
Be sure to feed your cat the right amount of right types of food, at optimal times. Feed your cat at similar times you eat so he/she won’t be begging you for snippets. Don’t overfeed. Just a small bowl will do. If your feline companion is not eating well, it may well be a disease. Consult with your local vet. If your cat is obese, never attempt to drastically drop the food amount. Cats are not good at handling rapid weight loss. Instead, try going to your vet and buy a special type of food that is low in fat and carbohydrates, but high in protein. As much as possible, do not feed your cat your food. It will surely become a habit. Give your cat fresh water everyday, especially those that are in outdoor cat enclosures. Contrary to popular belief, don’t feed your cat milk since they can’t digest it.
4
Spare some time to bond with your cat. Simply feeding, grooming and providing your cat a home to live in are not enough. Even ten minutes chasing a roll of yarn around the patio is good. Try snuggling up to your kitty with a good book inside cat enclosures. Melbourne, for instance, has enclosures large enough for you and another family member to fit in, giving you loads of room to cuddle and play with your pet cat. Be sure you pet them more often. A little love goes a long way.
5
A scratching post or a tree they can climb on should always be present inside cat enclosures. Melbourne, with its breathtaking views, is perfect for raising cats.
