Potential college students naturally have questions. With everything that comes with college, it is crucial that you are educated on the subject prior to beginning. The following article will give you some great tips to ensure that you are ready.

Before you leave for college, make a checklist of everything you will need. You need to be prepared for school to avoid calling your parents for items weekly. This is especially something to do if your classes aren't that close to home.

When you make out your work and class schedule, be realistic. Do not schedule a class that will be challenging for you early in the day if you have a problem waking up in the morning. Know your natural body clock and adapt your schedule to flow with that as much as possible.

Eat healthy. The term "freshman 15" exists for a reason. Try to remain aware of the foods you are consuming regularly. Avoid a lot of fast foods and pizza on the go. Although this may see seem like a quick and affordable solution, the pounds can slowly start to creep up on you. Also, you won't be receiving the energy that you need in order to perform at your ...
... best in class.

Eat healthy. Gaining the "freshman 15" isn't a myth! The better you eat, the better your brain will work, too. Stay away from fast food as much as you can. These foods are quick and easy, but they are very bad for you.

Memorize your schedule, and know the location of your classes before school begins. Determine the amount of time you need to travel from class to class, and plan accordingly. Scout out other important locations you'll need to know, and circle them on a map.

The surrounding environment is critical in determining your propensity to study effectively. The best location for your studies isn't always your dorm. Instead, seek out a place that's quiet and isn't full of distractions. Study areas in the libraries exist for this very reason. If you cannot go to the library, buy some headphones that will drown out noise.

You are responsible for cooking and cleaning. You should always eat right and get enough rest. Also, make a schedule to stay as organized as possible. Neglecting to fuel your body with nutritious foods can take an enormous toll on your sense of well-being, as can unchecked stress levels.

If you are moving out of state or plan to live on campus, carefully consider whether bringing your own vehicle is a good idea. It may be difficult to find a place to park, especially in crowded cities. You have to pay for parking, registration, insurance, and gas, and this might be difficult if you do not have a job or are only working part time.

To avoid gaining a ton of weight while at college, pay attention to the type of foods that you eat. Don't eat processed, sugary snacks and meals. Try instead to incorporate healthy foods from all of the important good groups. Protein is important, too, but you need other options.

College is where you can work hard and play hard. Although you may face challenges along the way, stay determined and work hard to get that degree.
