There are endless tourist spots all over the Philippines and one of the easiest to access because of its proximity to Metro Manila, is the province of Laguna. This historic province south of Metro Manila is home to various spots that are worth visiting. Below are some of the places to see and things to do in Laguna, Philippines.
• Mount Makiling. A lot of the must see places in Laguna involve some nature activities such as hiking, bird watching, and trekking. For such activities, the mystic Mount Makiling, which is actually an inactive volcano, is the perfect place to visit. This legendary mountain is best visited through the Los Banos campus of the University of the Philippines which is also a worthwhile place to experience.

You can also just enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere amidst the cool mountain breeze coming from the Sierra Madre mountain range.
• Rizal Shrine. If you are looking for a more historic and significant place to visit in Laguna, it is good to start with the house where Jose Rizal lived. Well-loved by the people of Laguna, the house where the national hero grew up in has been turned into a shrine where people can have a better insight on the young life of Jose Rizal.
• Pagsanjan Falls. Laguna also offers a less tranquil natural attraction, the Pagsanjan Falls. You can enjoy the rush of this famous waterfall and you can also ride a small boat and enjoy the river rapids.
