Modestly, freezing the pipe is a non-intrusive, measured method of isolating a short sector of pipe, by hardening the pipe contents to form a locked ice plug which in turn comprises the flow of the liquid whilst an alteration technique is carried out. The main benefits are that a 'break-in' can be executed without undergoing the cost and down-time of a wide-ranging system draining down the line.

During the isolation process of the pipeline services UK, a covering is fitted around the pipeline - on one or the other sides of the work section - and liquid nitrogen is acquainted into the jacket to freeze the matters of the pipe. As, Liquid Nitrogen has a temperature around - 196°C, and is expended during the course of operations by nonstop evaporation that takes place within the jacket in three ways; the first way to stop the pipeline is:

• By absorbing the heat from the pipe and its' contents, as its temperature is lower down from ambient temperature to liquid nitrogen temperature.

• By immersion of heat from ...
... within the cover, and in natural vaporization through exposure to natural air.

• In maintaining the plug in its unmoving stationary form, while the replacement, maintenance or repair work takes place.

And once the ice plug is proven, the 'dead-side' can be worn out, thus allowing invasive pipework repairs or interchanges to be carried out. Once the work is finalized and the system back-filled, the uprightness of the fixed section can be pressure tested to the ice plug. The stoppage process varies with the time, depending on the size of the pipe and its contents. To freeze the water for a longer time period hydrocarbon oils and other chemicals can be taken up to four times so that the water can be freeze for extended time period. The process of pipe freezing is divided into three sequences. It is divided to make the workflow procedure:

To begin with the sequence A: It is a redundant branch that is erased, collapsed and removed so that the process can be visible clearly. The excavation process is removed with the out of the work flow. The workflow is decided first and then either side of the branch is brought in total isolation. In order to isolate the dismissed pipework ant to fix the blank flange the isolation of the pipe is carried out. In sequence B, the pressure is tested by cleaning the mud, and lastly, the cover is allowed to freeze.
