This strapping used to protect injuries is commonly referred to as taping tape. Many companies have been established which manufacture strapping’s used to assist injured muscles. Each manufacturing company tries to outdo the other by making adjustments on the already existingtaping tape to come up with a new design which is more pleasant to the users.

This competition amongst the manufacturing companies has led to existence of a variety of taping tapes. The composition of these taping tapes is largely determined by the area of use of the taping tape. Though a majority of these tapes are used to reduce pain caused by the injured muscles or bones, the extent of damage on the muscle or bone will dictate the best strapping to be used. The manufacturers have in a big way tried to incorporate measures of comfort while designing strapping tapes.

Generally, there are two types of taping tape that exist. There are elastic strapping tapes and non elastic strapping tapes. The non elastic strapping tapes are made of cotton and so appear white in color. These tapes are very common as they were the first type of strapping ...
... tapes to be in use. They are largely used in first aid to prevent the injured muscle or bone from any movement. In many instances, they are used together with braces to try and stabilize the affected parts of the body.

They are largely used to avoid relapse on a muscle e.g sprained muscle that is undergoing recovery. Their use is restricted to certain parts of the body as they need some curves on the body to keep them in place. These non elastictaping tapes are commonly used by sportsmen or women to give first aid in cases of sports injury. The elastic strapping tapes can stretch easily. They have different tension levels which allow them to have varying stretch abilities. This type of taping tape can easily be teared with hand.

They are used on flexible body parts like the joints. Most of elastic strapping tapes are colored though white ones also do exist. Taping tapes are again further divided into smaller groups based on their area of use. If used by sports men or sports instructors then they can be classified as sports taping tapes. The ones used by Physiotherapists would be referred to as physio taping tapes; the ones used by athletes are commonly referred to as the athletic taping tapes.

Taping Tape generally help muscles and bones in recovering from injuries obtained as a result of overstretched muscles or fractured bones. Depending on the nature of injury, one is free to choose the type of taping tape to use.sport tape is largely used as a corrective measure to the injury.
