What You Didn't Know About Car Insurance
There is one thing everyone knows about car insurance, and that is how necessary it is! Car accidents are on the rise on our roads daily, and driving without car insurance is like playing a dangerous game of Russian roulette. Chances are you have hunted and scrambled around for the best deal you could find, just to make sure that someone else will be forking out a painful amount of money should you be involved in a collision.
Although it may seem like a Godsend when you've just smacked into the back of a snobby, irate woman's sports car, car insurance isn't always the lifesaver you thought it was.
Sometimes, they don't pay!
Yes, this happens, and quite often actually. Ombudsmen make a lot of money off miserable and panicking people who cannot squeeze any money out of their insurance company after being in an accident. Who are Ombudsmen? Ombudsmen are the true lifesavers, the sharks that descend upon your insurance company, demanding to know why they have rejected your claim. There are many reasons why your claim could be rejected. Why would this be?
Read the fine print!
Oftentimes, car ...
... insurance companies will have a few conditions and clauses that you may ignore. Most people are thinking and worrying about what should happen if they have an accident with another CAR. What happens if you hit a pavement, or a traffic calming measure a bit too hard? A simple mishap with one of these road features could cause some serious damage to your car! Unfortunately, what you do not know is that a large portion of car insurance companies do not cover their clients for this sort of incidence.
How much is too much?
Depending on your driving skills, you are probably not intending on knocking out every second car that gets a bit too close. Inconveniently, some people are not the best drivers in the world, and the person at fault for your accident may not even be you! You could have three accidents in as many months, with none of them being your fault! Lucky you, insurance pays out the first, and even the second time. Sure, your premiums have risen a bit more than you would like, but thankfully you didn't have to pay the exorbitant cost of the repairs to your vehicle. Then your third accident happens, and you apologetically hand your claim in, almost lulled into a false sense of security after your last two claims. What happens? Your claim is rejected! Car insurance companies do not LIKE parting with their hard earned money so often! They see you as a liability, and they want to teach you a lesson well it may feel that way to you at least. In cases like this, the car insurance company may even renounce you as a client, seeing you as too high risk. What's worse is that you will have a hard time getting your foot in the door of a new insurance company afterwards.
All this sounds rather frightening, and may leave you wondering why to bother in the fist place? All hope is not lost, as belonging to a good car insurance company will really save your wallet's life. What you need to do is ensure that you have a clear plan in your head of what to do should you be involved in an accident. Taking down all the necessary information, drawing pictures and obtaining witness statements will all go a long way in helping you get a smooth, hassle free claim.
