Mobility is everywhere. It is defining general purpose computing in an absolutely different manner. Most experts, who are aware of the rising trend of mobile devices, say that a big migration is taking place just under our nose. And it’s utterly unavoidable. More and more people around the word nowadays prefer smartphones and tablets over PCs.

Microsoft, after all years of trail, has now acquired Nokia. This deal gives a clear picture that mobility is going to be the future of computing. Microsoft, which is still a giant in computing world as almost 90% PCs are running on different versions of Windows OS, is now appearing interested in implementing mobile strategy for the entire computing ecosystem.

It is happening because of the fact that smartphones are now much more powerful than ever before. Now, they are not merely the device of entertainment or communication but a powerful PC in pocket. Today’s smart devices and tablets can easily cope up with multifaceted solutions.

And the recent trend in mobility is the cloud. In all meanings, the cloud computing has so far acted as to leverage mobility. ...
... This is good news for those developers of mobile applications which have been advocating web based mobile application development with the use of technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

The revolution of mobile technology happened at right time at right place. It’s not a co-incident at all. It actually begins with the mission of making computing more handy and bringing PCs in our hands.

Mobility lets the computing happen in real time. For example, you update your social status and your friends using smart phones and tablets come to know about it within a few seconds. Unlike a PC, which will show your updates only when your friends are logged in to it, smart devices update in real-time.

So our future, that took great jump when computers became personal computers, now, belongs to mobility because the entire PC-computing appears to be a fading term. But Understanding, that mobile strategy just ends after implementing or incorporating it on a business system, is also important. It is not a wise idea to wish for the success of a mobile app just after deploying it for businesses.

The market does not run on what a company makes and serves to people but what people like and feel convenient with. The same is now happening with mobile phones and tablet PCs. Users feel a sense of security if they are able to keep their computing device always in their pocket or hand. Users also feel a sense of security if they are able to do computing anytime, anywhere. Users feel a sense of security if useful software apps are available at a few dollars.

If users’ choice is everything, there is nothing wrong in accepting that mobility is shaping the future of computing.
