World Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics”, is the 2nd International Conference on “HEALTHY AGEING IN THE CHANGING WORLD 2013” to be held on 30th September and 1st October (celebrated as Elder's day)2013 at J. N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru, India. The sequel of the conference is the result from the overwhelming response and the loud success of the conference on Geriology, Geriatrics Medicine and Rehabilitation titled “INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HEALTHY AGEING IN THE CHANGING WORLD 2012” held on 29th September, last year at the same venue and location to be held this year.

The Government of India has also decided to focus on Geriatric Health care and a national programme for the elderly people will be operational from 8 geriatric centres from this year. The national programme has been sanctioned an amount of Rs. 150 Crore.
