Munnar is one of South India’s finest hill station, located in the Idukki district of Kerala. It is quite close to the Tamil Nadu border and hence can be accessed from both these states. Munnar is situated in the southern part of the Western Ghats, at the confluence for three rivers, Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly. The rivers enrich the area, bringing in rich fertile hydrated soil, which fuels the green expanses of Munnar. While at Munnar you must make it a point to visit the Pallivasal and Chinnakanal falls. The Chinnakanal waterfall, also known at the Power House Waterfall cascades down a 2000m rock formation! For scenic views of the Western Ghat you can also visit Echo Point, which is one of Munnar’s most popular spots for day picnics. Top Station, located about 32kms from Munnar, sits at a height of 1700m above sea level. From this elevated point you can enjoy a panoramic view of Tamil Nadu.
