Goa Packages Are Awesome!
Few tourist destinations in India are as mythologized in popular culture as Goa. Almost every serious traveller, and even almost every casual vacationer, has a story that begins with “When I was in Goa...”, and those haven’t been to Goa are all itching for a taste of India’s very own Ibiza. If you belong to the latter category, what are you waiting for? Book those tickets and pack those bags, because you have no idea what you are missing out on. Even barring the raving party culture, there are tons of other attractions to make you fall in love with the place. Briefly put, a tour package to Goa is essential!
One often comes across the notion that Goa packages are meant only for the young and the hip. After all, nightclubs in Goa proliferate faster than you can say ‘break a leg!’, and there is a whole crowd of young students and professionals in their mid-twenties, and even mid-thirties, who invade the state every year around December. Speaking of December, it by far the most crowded time of the year in Goa. The predominantly Catholic population invest themselves heavily in preparation for Christmas, which is ...
... celebrated with much pomp and show. Adding to these festivities are several extraneous organisers and promoters who work to organise some of the biggest and wildest New Year’s Eve parties in the country, let alone the state.
Regardless, Goa is as much for those who detest parties as the ones who love them. Why visit a nightclub when one can just as easily dig their toes in the sand at one of Goa’s many pristine, white beaches. These beaches play host to a number of water sporting activities, from jet skiing to parasailing to snorkelling. Not only are these sporting services plentiful in Goa, but they are also remarkably affordable. Another commodity that is remarkably affordable in Goa is alcohol. The local liquor, known as ‘kaaju feni’ (cashew feni in English), has a developed quite a following among a devoted band of connoisseurs who shun the more conventional fare, which is also very easily and cheaply available.
Speaking of drink, Goa is also the perfect destination for the gastronomically adventurous. The cuisine is idiosyncratic, a confluence of flavours from all around the world. Culinary businesses operate from within a multitude of shacks, huts and hole-in-the-wall locations, serving up the delicious, fiery orange fish curry that Goan food is synonymous with. Also on the menu are the Goan interpretations of Kerala’s famous beef chilly, and the famous Goan sausage which finds its roots in the Portuguese chorizo. Fishery is an important cog in the machinery of Goa’s economy, and fresh seafood of all shapes and sizes and prices is available throughout the year. One can enjoy these delicacies not just in huts and shacks, but also as fine dining in the handful of established gourmet restaurants that have becomes icons in themselves.
With this much to enjoy, we really wonder why anyone would be reluctant to visit Goa!
