It's a known fact that some of the best Hollywood movie releases happen in summer; with so many hot movies hitting the big screens this year, Summer 2009 is sure to be an unforgettable season. People usually look forward to seeing all movies that are released between May and August because that's when most of the hottest hits come out. Summer Movies 2009 has a line up of expected blockbusters and sensational films. Let's take a look at the most recent movies and the most anticipated movies of this year.
- X-Men Origins-Wolverine - An action packed movie where director Gavin Hood brings us to the Nineteenth Century to understand the origins of Wolverine. This is the story of a superhuman starring Hugh Jackman, his third in the X-Men series. This movie has the appearance of long awaited legends of X-Men Universe.

- Hannah Montana: The Movie - An entertaining movie about youth adapted from Disney Channel's Hannah Montana TV Show. This movie is about a teen who has to play dual roles in life - that of a pop star and a student of a high school. Miley Cyrus takes on the lead role as Montana. This film's sure to be a ...

- Angels and Demons - This is a follow-up to The Da Vinci Code by top selling author Dan Brown. Tom Hanks is back as Robert Langdon in this exciting race to save the Catholic Church from a secret organization called the Illuminati. Take a trip around the world with him in this suspense filled action thriller!

- Star Trek - It's an all new Star Trek with new up and coming faces, off on a voyage to a place unfamiliar to anyone so far on the most advanced starship ever created. Join James T Kirk and Spock in a mission to save the entire human race from destruction by an evil being seeking revenge.

- Terminator Salvation - A forward looking picture set in 2018 filled with the elements that made the first Terminator a hit. Connor has to choose whether he to belief in a stranger who may be from the past or future to work with him in order to save the world from a very serious threat of total destruction. What is Skynet up to?

- Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - if you like adventure comedies, you'll love this one. Battle of the Smithsonian is a sequel to the 2006 picture "Night at the Museum", this Ben Stiller picture moves at a fast pace and explores the interiors of the Smithsonian.

- Up - Pixar's charming animated movie for the entire family. A grumpy old man experiments with balloons to make his house fly to South America, but not known to him a nine year old boy Russell is on the ride too! Travel with them on this journey "Up".

- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Michael Bay's sequel Transformer's movie promises to be larger and more spectacular than his first. A thrilling robot and human chemistry that keeps you rooted to your seat.

- Public Enemies - This movie is anticipated to be the best movie of the year with a stellar cast that's out of this world. Michael Mann, Christian Bale, Johny Depp, John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Pretty Boy Floyd are all in this together to tell a story of "Public Enemies", gangsters who amuse the depressions affected public with their antics.

- Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - This is the last movie of the Harry Potter series. Expect to see a much more exciting dark tale spiced with romance in this movie with Daniel Radcliff and Emma Watson in the leading roles.
