Drug and alcohol abuse has became people's problem in all over the world. Drug and alcohol addiction can be occured on children, teens, adult, or old people. Drug and alcohol problem can affects women and men. Drug and alcohol addiction has no mercy. Celebrities, senators, students, housewifes, rich people, homeless people, high educated people, etc can be drug or alcohol addicts. So, we have to be aware more about drug and alcohol in order to save our life and our beloved person from addiction.

Good understanding of drug and alcohol can improve awareness and prevent us or our beloved person from drug abuse that can lead to addiction. By the awareness,you also can identify if you have addiction problem and search for rehab center to help you. By knowing the signs and symptoms of addiction, you can recognize your family and friends which have addiction and help them to find drug alcohol treatment centers.

Some prescription drugs can be abused and then lead to addiction. Commonly used opioids prescription drugs include oxycodone (OxyContin), propoxyphene (Darvon), hydrocodone (Vicodin), hydromorphone (Dilaudid), meperidine (Demerol), and diphenoxylate (Lomotil), Common central nervous system depressants include barbiturates such as pentobarbital sodium (Nembutal), and benzodiazepines such as diazepam (Valium) and alprazolam (Xanax) and Stimulants include dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) and methylphenidate (Ritalin) are examples of prescription drug abuse.
Different drugs have different effects. Some, such as cocaine or methamphetamine, may produce an intense rush and initial feelings of boundless energy. Others, such as heroin, benzodiazepines or the prescription oxycontin, may produce extreme feelings of relaxation and calm. What most drugs have in common, though, is overstimulation of the pleasure center of the brain. With time, the brain's chemistry is actually altered to the point where not having the drug becomes extremely uncomfortable and even painful. This compelling urge to use, addiction becomes more and more powerful, disrupting work, relationships, and health.
Increasing alcohol addiction is often the basis of attention deficit disorder, depression, and other mental illnesses. Other short term effects of alcohol abuse are: loss of inhibitions and physical co-ordination, blurred vision, loss of balance and slurred speech, fatal road accidents, domestic violence, even attacking. Large amounts of alcohol in a single go can result in coma and vomiting.
