Dreaming Your Way Into A Screenwriting Sensation

They say that you must believe to achieve, and for the most part, that's certainly something I've come to believe over the years, mostly from experience. Now then, how about your future career as a screenwriter, can you use Maxwell Maltz' Psycho-cybernetic Strategies to get there faster? Well, I am sure there is more to it than just that however, not long ago, I was discussing all of these things with an acquaintance of mine, a PhD psychologist in fact.
Indeed, I explained to her how I would go to sleep with a problem and then get an "ah ha" moment in the middle of a deep REM sleep and suddenly wake up compelled to write it down. When I did wake up I grabbed a pen and jotted down the answer to the problem that had perplexed me. It turns out that half the time it didn't make sense the next day, but at the time it did. She said that; maybe it did make sense, and perhaps I just wasn't connecting the dots. Yes, there is that possibility, because, the other half of the time the message I wrote down summarizing the dream was indeed an actual solution ...
... sometimes a brilliant one at that.
Being as I am a prolific writer, I've also dreamed I was writing a piece, and then woken up and assumed I'd written it, but then looked on my computer only to find I actually hadn't started it yet, that's because I was writing in the dream world, not in this one. Of course, as soon as I started to write, it all came back to me, as if I'd been there before, a total deja vu moment. Now then, let's get back to your career as a screen play writer because here is some real world advice - sleep on it - it works.
If you find yourself stuck on a script, and if you're at the end of your creative zone episode, and you just are completely stuck, review all of what you are trying to do, your characters and your entire project. Go to sleep and then when you wake up, you might just have the answer to a brilliant turn of events, or conclusion to your story and screenplay. Hey it works for me, and it works for others, and best of all there is a good reason why. My acquaintance stated that; "Some people don't believe in dreams," and maybe that is true, but I'm not one of them, I do believe and use it to achieve, so can you.
