Waxwork At The Amazing Musee Grevin

We think you'll agree that wax is never more exciting than when it's been crafted into sculptures of people you'd give anything to see in real life.

Waxworks now have a long history as a way of presenting the public with images of people they might never get to see for real, but would like to be able to visit! There are various wax museums around the world, some big and some smaller, some incredibly famous, others less so.

One of the more famous examples is found right among the Paris attractions, an exciting venue known as the Musee Grevin or the Grevin Wax Museum.If you've ever been to a wax museum before, you'll have some idea of what awaits you in this fantastic attraction.

It's home to wonderfully crafted statues, representing people who you are sure to recognise in life size scale, dressed in a way that helps convey a sense that the person is really there. Without knowing any of the statues you can see at the museum in advance, you would of course still have a fantastic time there. You could wonder the attraction's exhibition spaces and be surprised to come across someone whose face is so well known, ...

Some of the waxworks have been famous for many years - for example, few popstars have had similar success to Elton John. This famous piano player's statue must feel right at home at the attraction, positioned as it is right next to a piano, fingers poised over the keys. It's almost as if this super-realistic figure is about to treat fans to a concert, maybe including some of his hits, which include Rocket Man, I'm Still Standing and I Want Love. Of course, Elton isn't the only popstar at Grevin. For example, there's also a statue of Mika to be seen at the attraction. Though he hasn't been a music star for quite as long as Elton, Mika has certainly released well known and successful songs over the years. His track Grace Kelly was a number one hit in the UK, with songs like We Are Golden, Love Today and Happy Ending also providing the singing star with a number of top ten hits. So you're sure to recognise this modern pop singer when you spot his statue in place at Grevin.

Of course some famous faces have never actually existed in real life as such - because they were created as fictional characters. But at Grevin, you can come close to feeling like you've seen several characters who do not actually exist for real! For example, Asterix's friend Obelix is present for all to see, decked out in his famous costume including striped trousers. And 'Ice Age' star Scrat also has a furry replica of himself on show at the museum.

Grevin is a joyous place to spend time when you're looking for things to do in Paris. It's such a varied attraction to see, has so much excitement housed behind its doors, and will make you feel like you're surrounded by a huge number of monuments to popular culture, as well as other walks of life, such as politics.
