When you own your own home-based business, you need to be cognoscente of one thing above all others: budgeting your time. This one thing is far more useful to your home-based business growth than anything else because it measures how much time and effort you're pushing into the development and growth of future projects.

Think about this: if you started your home-based business because you weren't making enough money working nine to five, then you need to be sure that you're making that money that you wanted to get before you left your job. If you're not, then you should go straight back to your job and get it back.

The only way to ensure that you're making more money is to look at the ratio between dollars earned, and time spentmanaging. After all, if it takes you 100 hours of work to make only a few dollars more than it took you to earn working a 9 to 5 job, then you're still in a less then ideal situation. Improving your personal budgeting your time strategies is one thing you can do to ensure that you're getting more work done in your time on the job, and therefore, generate more income when working ...
... the same number of hours.

After all, if you could do the same amount of work in 30 hours than you could normally do in 40, then you could earn back 10 additional hours during your week to increase the number of business ventures you pursue, or to dedicate more time to your family|home|family and home|home and family}}} life.

Many people find the challenges of budgeting your time to be very great, especially when you have no bosses or customers breathing down your neck, but if you have already developed a strong work ethic on your own (which you must have, or else you wouldn't be very successful in your own home-based business at all), then you have all the skills you need in order to do really well with budgeting your time.

Time management is comprised of two major tasks. The first is saving time by removing unnecessary and repetitive tasks, and the second is developing your skills at the necessary skillsjobs.

The first type of time management task is necessary because by jettisonning unnecessary and repetitive skillsjobs you will naturally have more time during your day. Remove from your day any tasks which are not time sensitive. If you do these things once per week instead of every day, then you will reclaim some hours of time during the week. Also, if you find that you do these skillsjobs more than once per day, then you're still probably working way too hard.

The next kind of time management deals with accomplishing skillsjobs faster}. In this case, you must decide what kinds of things take up a lot of your time, and whether or not they could be done somehow. Perhaps hiring someone to do some of these skillsjobs is an option. If not, is there some piece of hardware which could make these skillsjobs easy?
If you can't use outsourcing, then you might try developing your own skills more. For instance, have you ever learned how to speed read? You can try this online speed reading test to see if you can read more than 800 WPM. If you cannot, there is definitely room for development. Think about how much time you could save if you read three times faster!
