Being one of the biggest reasons for non-natural fatalities among women, smoking is certainly a preventable habit. Core Data Service (CDS) surveys show that one out of every six women in the US smoke and almost 90% of these women suffer from smoking disorders later in life.

Even though most of us are familiar with some of the most common smoking disorders such as cancer and heart attacks, there are other harmful side effects of smoking that bring negative impact on women's health. In the remaining part of this discussion, we would be exploring some of the harmful effects of cigarette smoking and how these effects able to deteriorate women's health.

Tobacco accounts for almost 40% of all cancer deaths that occur in the world annually. Women who smoke are susceptible to a variety of cancers apart from lung cancer. Cervix, esophagus and throat cancers are other cancers whose occurrence is highly attributed to smoking and substances contained in tobacco such as tar, nicotine and cyanide.

Besides that, smoking is known to damage the air passage between the small lung tissues- it does not only block the air passage; the blood is not able to transport oxygen due to the blockage of this passage, which makes the person look weak and pail. Smoking also obstructs blood flow to the rest of the body. It will lead to other complications in which the smoker should seek intensive medical treatment.
