Get Growing For Compost Awareness Week

FIND ME A GIFT GET GROWING FOR COMPOST AWARENESS WEEK
Compost Awareness Week takes place 3rd-9th May 2009. The theme for this year's show is ‘Food for Thought'! Recycle Now are trying to encourage people to try their hand at home composting in an attempt to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill. So why should we recycle our food scraps? When waste is sent to landfill, air is not able to get to any of the organic waste, so when the waste breaks down it produces a nasty gas called Methane. It is extremely harmful to our environment so we should all do our bit to try and nip it in the bud!
