What Is A Gynecomastia Compression Vest
Gynecomastia is a condition where by there is a growth of abnormally large breasts in males. This is mainly due to the excess growth of the glandular tissue unlike the misconception that it is fat tissue. This condition may occur during the early infancy stages and puberty in normally developing boys. This is caused by the imbalance of the hormones in the male body which sees an excess in estrogen taking over the changes in contrast with androgen which are the male hormones. Gynecomastia can also be as a result of a prolonged use of medication and drug abuse that may trigger the activity of these hormones.
A gynecomastia compression vest is a compression garment that is specially made and fit to help with those with this condition. It's a tight & body hugging vest that comes with features depending on the manufacturer & purpose with which it is made. It can be worn by men who have developed this condition either after a rectification surgery, or under normal circumstances to reduce the size of the grown breasts. It is also used to shape the breasts into a beautiful chest formation. For those who have undergone ...
... surgery, this vest is most important within the first two days after surgery. This helps reduce the risk of external injury and bleeding.
Bleeding is the most important since the wound is still fresh and it wouldn't want to be irritated. The best period to wear this depends on the doctor who worked on the procedure because they will know the severity of the operation and the expected healing period. On average, the compression vest can be worn for up to a week after the surgery and then depending on the physician, it can continue to be worn or a lighter one can be worn in its place. Depending on an individual, the vest can be worn for longer than a week for that extra comfort if desired. The vest also promotes the adherence of the skin that is thinned within the tissue underneath and reduce swelling. The longest that this can take is four weeks for the average male.
The Gynecomastia compression vests are good because they are cheap as compared to going for surgery (This is where the vests are used to shape the body without the option for surgery), they also give immediate results. All you need is to wear the vest and your body is trimmed and great. When worn under your clothes, nobody can tell you are wearing a compression vest and can also provide the needed extra warmth. Like everything else, they do have their demerits which are; they offer a temporary solution, they cannot be used in all occasions an example like being on the beach or while out swimming. The Gynecomastia Compression vest can be uncomfortable for some since they are somewhat tight, in the initial days one might experience some discomfort and for some the binding feeling that comes with the vest can be quite a distraction.
