Hiking or walking long distances will not take as much effort. The function of your lungs will additionally improve remarkably, and coughing and phlegm would be reduced.

You will feel a general improvement in your breathing, and your sinuses will return to normal once more. As a result, you will no longer feel tired all the time.

After A Year

In one year's time, your risk of getting heart attack or any cardiac disease is lowered by 50 percent compared to the time when you were still smoking.

In the Long Run

For the long haul, what follows are some benefits to consider: In 5 to 15 years, you have the same risk for experiencinga stroke as an individual who has never smoked. Within 10 years, you benefit from a decreased risk of suffering from lung cancer or different types of cancer (including mouth, throat, kidneys, bladder, esophagus, pancreas, etc.) that frequently afflict habitual smokers. After approximately fifteen (15) years, your risk of developing a heart disease (like coronary disease/heart attack) is lessened to the level of someone who has never smoked.
