Technical interviews are largely conducted by the technical leads, though project managers conduct the interview sometimes. One time it may be for associate SAP purposeful position, ABAP, Basis or alternative technical positions. Not all sorts of interviews have all of the later phases. But all this is very easy if you have access to the SAP basis tips & tricks readily available. For eg., a full time position or a contract-to-hire can involve additional general queries, his/her project or achievement connected queries, activities etc whereas a contract position can involve additional focussed queries on the module or specifics that she or he is recruited for.

This follows the preliminary meet-and-greet and offers for coffee. You will be asked questions mostly on your project history. This phase is to assess your areas of strength. Do not panic in the event you are asked questions that are much unrelated to what you might have done historically. The interviewer is doing an preliminary assessment on where your strengths are and the way you might fit the requirements.
Sometimes your bio-data might not be seen at ...
... all. You will be explained the project scenario and their short term and long term goals. Again, the idea is to let you know about the back ground and to prepare you in general on the flurry of questions that are going to come your way. Most of the time the people interviewing you would be either a technical lead or the project manager or both. In the event you are interviewing with a consultation firm, managers from the client side could be also be present. It is importantly to speak slowly and clearly. The process of interview often leads to speeding up words. This needs to be consciously and carefully avoided.

Now the last round. This is the toughest round and what you have been preparing for all along. This round can last long and in case you are interviewing for a large company this phase could be done with multiple teams for multiple hours. Normally you would not be asked to come in for a technical round the next day, but in the work of the same day, there could be round with one team and another round with the the other team. Most of the time the focus would be on your resume and the achievements you mention in your resume. The questions would not go much beyond the first and second project unless they find something fascinating or something they could relate to in your earlier projects. Also, the type of technical questions would depend on whether you are applying for a Jr. level, mid-level or Sr consultant position.

The author is himself a SAP specicliast and written much on SAP basis tips tricks. Here he explains the different stages of interview for a SAP position.
