Dallas Metro Homes Prices Show Strength Against The Rest Of The Nation

Dallas homes for sale values decreased 4.3 percent between December and the past 12 months. according to the S-P Case-Shiller Price Indices. The price drop is the second best among 20 other metro areas surveyed, with only Denver home values bettering Dallas Homes values with a 4 percent drop.

Comparing that to a national average of home values drop of 18.2 percent between December 2007 and December 2008. The national home value drop measured in this time period is the largest ever measured within the S-P Case-Shiller Price Indices history.

All 20 metro areas measured are reporting declines and eight of the metro areas homes' values dropped more than 20 percent.

This data is based on home prices that have sold, not at what the homes are listed at and represents the real market of homes as this is the price home buyers are willing to pay for them.
