Online Article Marketers - Are You Really Appropriately Ambitious

Not long ago, I found myself debating the ends and outs of online article writing with a gentleman who is a proclaimed expert in Internet marketing and has duly noted the advantages of informational online marketing through article writing. Some of the suggested marketing practices that most Internet marketers claim to be relevant are not always what I'd consider appropriate or the epitome of ethical in nature. Okay so, let's talk as this can be a contentious topic for many who are just getting in the online world of article marketing.
First, I believe it is relevant to do a bit of soul searching and mirror gazing to see if your motivation is "appropriately ambitious" or somewhat sketchy or murky when it comes to the details, that is to say how you propose to go about it. Most everyone I've ever talked to who has done online article marketing for any long period of time will advise newbies that quality trumps quantity, but that without the quantity of quality articles, the venue is simply underwhelming, as it is hard to cover all the niche topics within the subject matter you are writing about.

... some have decided to cut corners, or cheat using less-than-ethical tactics which in the end lend themselves to less-than-stellar performance and results. Let's consider expanding this conversation to include some of the issues I am talking about here;

Over the years, I've had a number of folks contact me asking me about online marketing. They want to sell some type of product online or offer some service and they've noted that I have written a ton of online articles, and they assume that I know something about all this. They tell me that their goal is to be financially independent in a business of their own, working out of their own home, and doing it all online. Basically, they want to make $1 million.
That is rather ambitious, and there is nothing wrong with making money in the free-market, and nothing wrong with making money online, as long as you are doing it right and your marketing is appropriate and ethical. Still, there are far too many people trying to game the system or cheat. Too many people claiming to have written something they didn't write using PLR software which I personally despise, or trying to game the search engine using less than ethical as SEO strategies.
They use trickery tactics to get other people to link to them and pretend to be friends with people they never would in the real world on the popular social online networks. They use shrill tactics in promoting their own products and creating false reviews. If you go to their website they have squeeze pages, and giant long sales letters which they claim to be free eBooks. That's really unfair to all the people on the Internet that put their trust in these online entrepreneurs.
If you are going to operate an Internet business, even if it is a small business run out of your home, then I hope you will be appropriately ambitious, and not do anything inappropriate or dishonest in the process. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
