IIA-CIA part 3 exam is a relatively new exam that will be administered from 1st of July 2013 and the current phase 4 will be phased out by the end of December 2013. IIA-CIA part 3 is an exam that validates an individual’s knowledge of Internal auditing. This certification exam basically comprises of 90 questions which must be completed within 2 hours and 25 minutes. The new IIA-CIA part 3 will comprise of 3 major components instead of the former 4 test components. The 3 components of the new exam are;
•Internal Audit Basics – This exam component comprises of 125 questions that must be completed less than 2 hours 25 minutes,
• Part 2- Internal Audit Practice- this component comprises of 100 questions that must be answered less than 2 hours.

Internal Audit Practice is the second component of the IIA-CIA part 3 exam that tests the knowledge of a candidate on topics such as; Management of the Internal Audit Function, Management of Individual Engagements, and Fraud Risks/ Control.
Internal Audit Knowledge Elements is the third part of the IIA-CIA part 3 exam that covers 8 key components , these are; Governance and Business Ethics, Risk Management, Organization structure , Business processes ad Risks, Management and Leadership principles, Communication, IT and Business Continuity, Financial Management, and the Global Business Environment.
There has been a massive re-organization of the topics in the old Part 4 of the IIA-CIA exam , while some topics were removed, some new ones are added. Testing for IIA-CIA part 3 will be conducted only in English and it start from the 1st of July 2013. The registration for this exam begins in May 2013 , and registration will end by the end of June 2013.
Candidates will be exempted from some exams which have not been previously completed in the older version of IIA-CIA exam base on their job experiences as well as education.
