Five Tips And Training Tools To Help Spice Up Training Sessions

Even with all your training, experience and skills, you need to do more research from the training resources developed for this purpose. Heads of department or even the human resource managers usually prepare their people for such training.

Here are five tips on how to succeed:
Warm-ups or icebreakers: Make it a habit to begin your session with an icebreaker or warm up activity. Most of the people you see before you were almost pushed to attend training. ... with domestic problems. Clearly, their minds are not in the training room. You need to grab their attention as you assess whether the training has sufficient training resources.
Diversity in presentation: Good presentation skills help you deliver the point home in an easy way. The moment you notice that your audience is not remotely interested with listening, it means you are either too boring or have been talking for too long. Besides talking, make use of training resources such as Power Point presentations, pictures and charts. Throw in a few simple and tough questions then ask the people to discuss in groups. Let each group appoint a leader who will in turn deliver the groups response.
Guest speakers: When you are facilitating a one, two or three day seminar, participants view you as a trainer and nothing else. Surprise them by inviting a guest speaker. Talk to a successful CEO or businessperson and see whether they can find time to give a short talk to your audience. You will be amazed at how responsive the audience becomes.
Provision of resources: You head into a seminar hall prepared, with all the training tools, to give a talk, only to notice that participants do not have resources. What this means is that the audience is not adequately prepared. Some do not have pens or notepads to write on. Make sure you arrange to have these training resources distributed to all in attendance. You could also have some questionnaires that you can pass along as training continues. You will also need a projector and a screen among other training tools.
Questions and answers forums: As part of training tools, questions are good at gauging the level of understanding. Ask attendees to write them down on pieces of scrap paper. Review them during lunch or tea breaks and discuss with your fellow panelists. Allow each speaker a minute or two to respond. In case there are questions that your team did not address properly due to shortage of time, make a promise to respond in writing.
