The sun is out, the birds are chirping, and the wine is sitting there waiting to be drunk. Now is the perfect time to head out and search for a wine picnic basket. There are loads of options out there, so to help make this process easier, here are a few tips.

Before rushing off to get the cheapest basket, decide what size it needs to be. For those small dinner parties, search for those small carriers that hold a bottle or two. There are a few that even hold three bottles if that is the kind of evening it is going to be. To stand out from the rest of the people at the event, why not find a unique style that has a story behind it. There are some fairtrade organizations that have these types of carriers available, and it is also easy to find them at local artist markets.

For those that enjoy having this alcohol around the house, racks are great, but why not check out different vintage, wire, bamboo, or retro style holders. These can make for great conversation starters when hosting a party, add a bit of character to the place, and be different to all the rest.

Just find an old carrier and re line it with some fun material that shows some personality.

Wine drinkers might also like to do some hiking to the perfect spot. Carrying an odd shaped basket may not be the most ideal way to do this. There are backpacks that are available and help the trip a lot more enjoyable. They have a front side that fully zip down and securely holds the glasses, cutlery, plates, and other essentials. The backside is waterproof and insulated, keeping everything the right temperature, or at least close to it.
