Google and any other search engines have always been great ways to get traffic to your content and has been a great way for a lot of marketers to make money online especially through content based marketing like blogging.
However nowadays, there's a lot of competition around for those big keywords with all these vicious marketers and at times it often takes while to even get indexed on Google.
So then of course, there's all these social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and all these playing fields that have a lot more trash than actual good content. There's so much spam in social media nowadays that having a content marketing strategy based around that isn't really enough to get you your breakthrough in this industry.
But now that we've established that having your content such as your articles and videos plastered on many different sites would NOT be duplicate content that will get you penalized, that opens up a vast playground for us marketers now doesn't it?
If you understand the basics of how article marketing and syndication works, you'll realize that you don't really need SEO or even any search ...
... engine traffic at all to get tons of traffic.
But let's break it down.
An article directory is obviously a place for you to submit articles. But for what reason?
Obviously we want to get traffic. It's plain to see that article directories get traffic too. Yes, you do get lucky and even get buyer traffic coming in to see your articles and sometimes end up finding your content through the directories that somehow have indexed in the search engines.
Fair enough.
But that's not really the main reason and purpose behind the article directories.
You submit your high quality content in order to allow for syndication. What does this mean? This means that when you submit your articles to these directories, you're allowing other publishers and website owners to republish your content on THEIR sites for as long as they follow the rules (like say, leaving your resource box with your link intact).
And why would other publishers and authors want to use YOUR content for their sites?
Well if you're article rocks and is seen as valuable to their target audience, then why not? Most publishers and website owners want to give as much value out to their target market. So why not use an article that's already awesome (like yours) and just re-post it on their site? It's not duplicate content anyway, so they won't get penalized.
But what's in it for YOU?
Well think about it - what if you have your content syndicated on other people's sites that already get a lot of traffic?
That's leverage.
And you can even start getting traffic quicker than you can while waiting for Google to show you some love.
So you know that syndicated content is not duplicated content, but you still want to keep few things in mind.
Before anything else, you will want to have your article or whatever piece of content you have indexed on YOUR SITE FIRST.
This is very important.
You want the search engine traffic to go to your blog. Otherwise, if you just send your articles to get indexed on the directories first, then you will be helping them out because it tells Google that the directories is where the content got indexed first.
You want your blog to attract the buyer traffic from search engines, whereas you want your submitted articles to attract publishers and authors (and not all of them may necessarily be buyers).
Guest blogging also shares a similar concept, which you're pretty much bypassing the directories and giving your content straight to your JV partner.
Sometimes though, depending on the author you're working with, they may or may not want your content indexed on their site first, depending on what their intentions are.
So what are you waiting for? Start creating your awesome content and start syndicating them through high traffic channels!
