MDIS School of tourism and hospitality was recently created in August 2006 where the pioneer cohort of diploma pupils came in. Soon after this Bachelor degree module was introduced, since then, the college has been enjoying close interaction with institutes from Australia and the United Kingdom in preparing potential professionals of the future.

Later in March 2007, MDIS School of tourism and hospitality was finally created and this event was seen by a lot of travel and tourism industry firms. It is perceived that the introduction of this school of hospitality was an suitable move by MDIS. It came in just in time to help settle the increasing need for qualified and trained individual in the travel, tourism and hospitality companies. Pupils were provided in both classroom setting as well as hands on practical practices. This was because these hospitality management pupils not only have to go through the academic portion of the activities in school, they are also requested to complete a four to six months work experience at leading hotels, resorts, attractions as part of the timetable. Up to date, there have been more than 3,000 students coming from more than 20 nations that have united MDIS School of Tourism and Hospitality. This fast increase in student crowd has also brought about more introductions for the institution.
