The Most Wonderful Place In Canada

My Grandfather recently told me about his holidays in Canada and also about a house that he used to own there . He told me the tale of how he came to own it and then he began describing the place to me. It sounded so amazing that I felt it was something I had to share.

It was a cabin that was positioned on the banks of Primrose Lake in Alberta. It had a giant open fireplace in the living room, 3 bedrooms and a large kitchen and bathroom. It was built using local hard wood and stone and was made completely by hand, all of it. He showed me a picture of the house and it was absolutely stunning.

The still lake in summer was so inviting that he would often spend hours out there on the boat fishing. You do not know what real silence sounds like he told me, its beautifully indescribable.The world we live in bombards us with constant noise from vechiles, machinery or people doing something. But not here. Here was perfect silence. He told me how he used to gaze for hours at the ore-inspiring mountains and often sleep in his little boat as well

In the winter time he would ice skate for a while on a patch ...
... of lake that he had cleared of snow and sometime do some ice fishing as well. He would then take whatever fish he had managed to catch back to the cabin and my grandmother would make fish pie for supper.

The whole thing sounded like a complete dream to me. And that is why, after hearing my grandfathers story, I am heading out there soon on a holiday searching for a place of my own on that same lake. I cannot buy the place that my grandfather used to have unfortunately but I will find a place similar and that will do me.
