If you're looking at starting your own home based business, chances are you have had a job in your lifetime. And I will be honest, that is going to work against you!

Allow me to paint a picture for you. Go back to elementary school for a moment. You had to get up early, get driven or walk to school, and report in. You had to follow instructions. The better you followed instructions, the better your grade. The better your grade, the more rewards you got from your parents, and the promise of more rewards for your future.

Does this sound familiar? It should, because this was your very first on-the-job training! This is society's way of training you for the working world, to go out and get a job. A job that makes you get up early, drive or walk to work, and report in. You follow instructions, and the better you follow instructions, the better your pay. The better your pay, the more chances for promotion, and you can buy more things - and get your reward.

Most people don't realize it, but this is the exact opposite mentality you need to be successful in business. And it has been taught to you from a very early ...
... and impressionable age.

To be successful in business, you have to throw time out the window. You have to throw instructions out the window. And sometimes, you have to throw rewards out the window.

Do you want to get more done today, to make more money? Then you need to either put in more time, or pay someone else to do it for you. You don't get paid to be there, you get paid purely for results.

There is no safety net. No "I don't feel well, I'll just take a sick day..." If you don't invest time or money in your business, you won't get any time or money out.

That is the mentality that you need to have to be successful. Stop thinking in terms of hours, and start thinking in terms of investing. Investing time, or money, or sweat into something you create. And it will give you the same in return.
