7 Effective Ways To Promote Positive Thinking

You have cancer. You think: What is there to be happy about? Yes, you have cancer. But why make your life more miserable by taking things negatively? Why not make an effort to see things in a different light? You can choose to be positive. Consider the tips below:

1. Make an effort to smile.

First and foremost, smile. Regardless if you feel down, move those lips and show your best smile. If you are not ready to face your family and other people smiling, you can begin in your own room, in front of the mirror. Practice every day. If this technique is not enough, you may watch comedy films each day. It will help a lot. As days pass by, you will realize that your grin is becoming genuine. Before you know it, you are already giving your loved ones your smile.

2. Surround yourself with positive individuals.

Ask friends who can offer you laughter each day to visit or go out with you. Make sure that they are the types of individuals who also promote positivity. Do not allow yourself to be surrounded by those who always complain about a lot of things and who always view things in a bad light. They will only ...

3. Sing your heart out.

Regardless if you do not know how to sing, just sing your heart out. You can choose to sing along with your favorite singer. Perform some moves if you want. Just do everything to express your emotions.

4. Buy and read inspirational books.

Go to book store nearby and spend for inspirational books. Read them every day - particularly when you feel like negative thoughts are beginning to enter your mind again. Pore over the pages. Reflect on the words written.

5. Give time to meditate.

Your mind needs to slow down. Lie down in your bed, close your eyes and let your hands and feet rest. Think about the beautiful things around you or think of a very quiet place and imagine yourself enjoying it. Afterwards, go back to where you are - in your room. Visualize the cleanliness and tranquility inside. Soon as you feel calm, get up and do another thing that will help you stay positive.

6. Make yourself busy.

Are you only at home and doing nothing? Then by all means cook! If you do not know how, then it is a perfect timing because you will have to busy yourself researching on how to do things and which recipes to cook. As you improve from being a good eater to a better cook, you will feel a lot better about your life.

7. Look for someone to help.

Being able to help someone will make you feel fulfilled and feel good about yourself, especially when the person you supported is very thankful of what you did.

You can choose to be happy even with your cancer. You can start with positive thinking. Through this, you do not become the ‘victim’. You only create another ways to make your life fulfilling and worth living. Things may seem unbearable at the beginning but remember, there is always a better way out.
