Hey, looking to lose some extra weight for the summer? Wow, I bet that means you have been all over the web searching for options. Overwhelming isn't it? I know, I have been there. I was 240 pounds and gaining more with each year. I tried all kinds of diets (I can tell you more about why they did not work if you are interested) But for now, I am sure that you are wondering what actually did work right? I thought so. The following bullet points are the primary tools which I used to lose 70 pounds in six months.
Stop drinking soda, sugary juices and other high calorie beverages.
-Oh, I know what you are thinking I don't like this guy already! Hey, I know it's hard. It was hard for me to, but here is what I did that really worked: Next time you get a soda, pour out about ten percent of it and pour in water to fill it back up. Do this for about a week, then increase it to 20 percent. This will give your taste buds time to adjust instead of going cold turkey. By the time you are drinking only water you won't care, and you will lose 5 to ten pounds in the process.
Give your eating a ‘bed time'
Do you ...
... know how sumo wrestlers gain weight? By going to bed right after a large meal. This ensures that your body will not be active enough to burn the calories and they will instead be stored as fat. Set a time when you will stop eating for the day. Two to three hours before you go to bed is a good guideline. This will discourage your body from storing energy as fat.
Cut back on bad carbs, saturated fats and sodium
These three are the major culprits for obesity. And do you know what? Cutting them out is not as hard as you think. If you are looking for a guide to what carbs are good and what are bad as well as saturated fat and sodium I have included a link below. You do not want to eliminate these completely. Instead, move them to a day of the week when you will ‘cheat on' your diet. This will prevent burnout.
Track your progress by pictures instead of using a scale
Number are boring and say little about what you are really after. Most of us want to lose weight to look better or feel better. Take a picture of yourself and post it in your diary. Do this every month so that you can actually SEE your progress. This will help you to change your inner image of yourself as well as your outer which is the key element in keeping the weight off.
So there you have it! Now sure there are a lot of other details but don't burn yourself out getting started. These alone can have dramatic results if you do them consistently. If I can, then so can you! Enjoy.
