Founded in 1936 in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, the Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India. Situated across an area sprawling over 521 square kilometers, the park houses a wide and diverse variety of fauna and flora. Flora that could be seen in the park include about 600 species of trees, climbers and ferns; and the rarest species of herbs and shrubs.
